Acupuncture is a form of healthcare originating in ancient China, and developed across China and the Far East. It focuses on the whole person, their physical and mental health, and emotions. When the body is out of balance, ill health or pain can result. Using fine needles, the acupuncturist is able to help the body restore its natural harmony, by ensuring the free flow of qi (also known as chi), the body’s natural energy.
Can acupuncture help you?
Acupuncture can be beneficial for a range of conditions including
- back, neck and shoulder pain
- fertility problems and assisted conception
- menstrual problems – irregular periods, PMT, pain
- headaches and migraine
- hayfever and rhinitis
- anxiety and depression
- fatigue and chronic tiredness
- rheumatoid arthritis

Acupuncture can be beneficial for many more conditions and symptoms than those listed above, so please contact me if you want to discuss your situation.
Acupuncture is focused on the individual rather than just the symptoms or condition, so the same medical diagnosis will not mean the same acupuncture treatment.
After one or more acupuncture sessions, it is usual to see changes not only to the patient’s main illness or symptoms, but also other changes. These may include some of the following
- improved energy
- better sleep
- emotional changes
- feeling more relaxed or less stressed
